Meme, booties and washcloths

Remember my beautiful yarn i got last week...from Scout well she restarted(?) her meme that she started awhile ago (i didn't start reading her blog until a month and a half ago so i didn't read about it when she officially started it) Well anyway i am blabbing, she wants to see our "Knitting Spot" so here is mine.
Knitting Spot: Futon with a pillow for comfy resting position, current knitting project-alien washcloth (more below about where its from), Lappie easily accessible and almost always online. Green caddy has catalogs, magazines, books, writing utensils and other little things it also holds any drink or snack i might be having. My knitting spot is also the guest bedroom, turned into a shared tv room so hubby and aidan can "be by me" as they put it and it is my reading spot and writing letter spot.

The other end of my knitting spot: As you can see i have a clear shot to the Tv should i want to watch a movie or a favorite show while i am knitting. Currently showing Stargate SG-1. See the set of drawers right next to the futon-Knitting Magazines!! TAG! your turn to show off your knitting spot!
I would also like to make note that the green and plaid are not me at all they are the previous owners and this summer there will be change in background something bright maybe pink or purple or turqoise ...not sure yet.
Brady's Washcloths: Wasn't originally planning on making these but Strangelittlemama tempted me with her alien washcloth and i found these patterns too. Super fast and easy. I finished one per night. I like quick gratifying knits. The yellow heart is easier to see. The blue one is a teddy bear in case you can't tell. I used size 7 needles and Sugar and Cream Cotton. Pattern is here
Brady's booties: Caron Simply Soft still using up the same skein that i made the cardigan with.
Size 3 needles. the pattern used straight but i got to the point where i had to use double points because it was easier for me. Overall it is a cute quick pattern. the seam up the back (the only seam :) ) could use some tweaking. The pattern knits up 99% in one piece- that's always a plus!
And the pattern came from UK mag Simply Knitting May 2006 with the special baby pattern insert. Yes i am spoiling the little guy with some handknits. Well tonight i should finish my last half of my alien cloth and then i plan to start HAHAHAHAHA Actually get back to knitting my Orangina! Oh dear Orangina your completion seems so far and distant!

Brady's Cardigan

There it is! i am almost done! i hope to get it done tonight but i said that last night too and ended up cleaning op the harddrive on my computer because supposedly i have 85% of it full! I love this pattern. It is really easy and has almost no seaming just closing up the little teeny sleeves. The pattern has hearts on the front and back but i just wanted to stick to a simple cardiagn and add some really cool buttons instead :)

Nothing else is new. The new Knit 1 mag is due out today but my Joann Store is very slow in getting out new mags usually 2 days after other stores already have it out. But i use my 40% joann coupon so i have to be patient and wait :)

bday and Brady Cardi update.

So i wanted to show off some of the things i got for my birthday. Socks are from my mom, i love socks that have color and animal ones too. Hubby added Hutch to my collection of Wallace and Gromit figures! And he got tickets for us to go see "Wicked" I am super excited about that! but i have to wait a couple weeks.

This is from my mom too. It's called a Japanese Cube! She made it herself. Way Cool! Anybody interested in one let me know she does orders.
On the Knitting front i did do some work on the Cardigan for Brady. i was on row 6 and now i am on 22 so i think that's pretty good progress for a night. Especially since i spent some time online and took an ice cream break. I'll have a pic of my progress next time.

And i was reading one of the many knitting blogs and Strangelittlemama had a cool Alien Washcloth she got from HERE and i found a pattern for a heart and teddy bear washcloth from the same place that i think i want to make for August-due Brady but the shower is in July. So we'll see. I really want to make the Alien one for me!! Fun Fun!!! I think i have to go to Joann and get some Cotton Yarn!

Sheepy!!!

My One Skein swap pal emailed me! i was so excited when i got the email-It's official i am in a Swap! Of course i emailed back right away and answered some swap Q's. Here are my answers.

1. Which yarn is most like your personality (you can be specific or general with your answer- brand, type, color, fiber, whatever)?
...i can't think of a shy yarn LOL i guess i would have to say a magic stripe yarn because you have to work with it and get to know the yarn before it reveals to you what its like.

2. What is your favorite color yarn to knit/crochet with?
I like bright happy colors, pinks purples, turquoise, i would have to say most of my stuff has been in bright colors or dark pinks/magenta colors.

3. Have you ever used variegated, or magic, yarns?
i made a water bottle holder for my mom's birthday in a variegated yarn by Art Yarns. It had purples and pinks in it.

4. Do you tend to favor certain fibers when choosing yarns?
No i wouldn't say i have, a lot of the projects i have made have been for babies so i use a really soft acrylic yarn called Caron Simply Soft. but i have tried to use a lot of different stuff.

5. Do you prefer to work with center-pull or traditionally wound balls of yarn?
I have never-used a center-pull so i have no preference but as long as i can use the yarn i wouldn't mind how it was wound up :)

6. Have you ever worked with organic yarns or are you interested in trying them?
No i haven't used any but my LYS had this soy yarn that was soo soft and sooo expensive but i am sure it must be a dream to knit with and make a really great final product.

7. How many and what projects have you made in the last year?
i would guess about 20 but they have all been smaller quick knits.

8. Will you be knitting any gifts this year?
Yep, i did some for Easter and i want to make some for Christmas (i have plans to start early LOL i am sure you have heard that before) and i am doing a baby shower gift for my friend.

9. What is your favorite one skein project?
I love the cupcakes in the book and in another book i have Weekend Knitting they have flower washcloths that i love to make.

10. How much yarn do you have in your stash and how do you store it?
I have an 18 gallon tote full of yarn and other wooden basket chest that is about 3/4 the size of the tote. Not to bad i think if i added anymore storage for yarn my husband would be like What is going on??

11. Do you have a yarn in your stash that you love so much you can never use it or part with it? No i dont have one of those yet my problem is just not knowing what to use it for.

12. Do you knit less or differently in the summer?
yea i would say a little less in the summer because i am outside more playing.

13. Do you belong to any knitting groups (online or offline)?
No there aren't any in my area. i really really wish there were i have even thought about starting my own but i wouldn't know where to begin but i am on the One Skein knit along and the Sexy Knitters Club

...lazy bones

My sleeping kitties while i am working on my Bad Penny(put away) and a close-up of my sweet Max :) i woke him up.

I have done nothing...no small projects, no big projects and i havent touched my Orangina in weeks. I started/restarted the first 4 row of the cardigan i am making for Little Brady.
My Birthday was yesterday-i had a nice day and got nice things :) Hubby got me tickets to see "Wicked".
Some Good news today though i got my One Skein Secret Pal info today! I am excited! I kept checking my email all day to see when i would get the info!
Bad Penny has been completely put away i was doing great but the sleeve edges still too small and i finished the bottom and it get all tight in my hips all because of the bind-off-ifit wasnt for my @$&*#@ bindoff then everything would be perfect.
I have really been wanting to make some socks but i don't like having so many UFO's.
I have a Simply Knitting and Interweave Knits to read--Yeah!! But tomorrow i plan to get back on track--MUST KNIT!!!!
